For dental hygiene and periodontal programs that need a board exam compatible scaling and root planing platform. Anatomically rooted teeth, a clearly defined CEJ, and calculus placed both subgingivally and supragingivally make this one of the most widely used hygiene typodonts in North American programs.

The Hygiene Typodont is built for realistic instrumentation. Enhanced gingival areas give students secure finger rests, and the teeth are moulded from a hard fibre so a sharp scaler will not dig into the tooth surface. White crowns with yellow roots let students both see and feel the crown to root transition as they work.

Choose your dentition

• TR56C: #19 (3.6) edentulous and #14 (2.6) super erupted. The missing molar and the over-erupted tooth introduce the access and adaptation challenges students actually meet in clinic.
• TR56D: full complement of 32 teeth for complete quadrant and full mouth instrumentation.

Choose your gingiva

• Pink (GSF): the most realistic tissue appearance, best for student practice and exam preparation.
• Semi-transparent (GSE): lets students visualize root anatomy and calculus position beneath the tissue.
• Clear (GSD): ideal as a faculty demonstration model.

Beyond scaling

The tissue is reinforced for repeated use and supports periodontal surgical technique practice, including flap surgery, root amputation, guided tissue regeneration, and osteoplasty.

Build out the simulation

Add an Oral Cavity Cover to simulate lips and cheeks and to act as a water collection system so students can work with ultrasonic scalers. Add a Tongue to practice mirror placement, indirect vision, and tissue retraction.
