Understanding tooth nomenclature:
Example 1.7 - 2 - Upper Right 2nd Molar. The first numbers here "1.7" indicate the FDI numbering system. The second set of numbers "2" indicate the ADA numbering system. The last line indicates the commonly referred to position of the tooth.
