Description
For orthopaedic residency, sports medicine and surgical skills programmes, this life-size knee arthroscopy model gives trainees a realistic joint to navigate with a real arthroscope, then doubles as a functional anatomy model in the classroom. It was produced in cooperation with knee arthroscopy pioneer Prof. Dr. H.R. Henche.
The knee bones sit inside a smooth skin and muscle cover. Six access portals let learners practise standard approaches: four on the anterior cover (two lateral, one central and one medial) plus one lateral and one medial portal into the posterior recess.
Inside, the key structures are reproduced close to true anatomy and are built to be exchanged as they wear:
- Menisci: medial and lateral menisci anchored with plug-in threads for quick replacement
- Ligaments: collateral and cruciate ligaments on screw and plug-in joints
- Patella: exchangeable, with the patellar ligament shown
- Hoffa's fat pad: removable and refitted with an adhesive catch
Remove the skin and muscle cover, held in place by four synthetic screws, and the bones and ligaments work as a functional knee joint for teaching. The thigh mount fits a standard operating table vice.

CLA offers replacement parts that turn the healthy knee into a diagnostic case, including menisci with bucket-handle, flap and other rupture patterns, and patellas with villus formation or tears. Individual ligaments, menisci, skin covers and screws are also available as spares. Ask us for pricing on any part.
Choosing between our knee models: this Standard model (CLA 10) has six fixed portals and a screw-secured cover. The CLA 10/3 adds a soft palpable front, a press-stud skin sleeve and a set of replacement parts. A version supplied in an aluminium carry case (CLA 10/1) is available on request.
