Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) model, demonstrating the problematic conditions associated with the joint capsule. Emphasis on the disc, surrounding bone inflammation, and also the effects on the teeth, (cracks, chips, cavities, and characteristics of bruxism).
The base and sinus area of the skull is represented with the cap and back of the skull left open, allowing you to study the features of the skull. The transparent skull allows you to see the articulation of the mandible. The mandible can be slightly moved and dysfunction of the joint capsule along with inflammation is shown on one side. Normal anatomy and function is demonstrated on the opposing side.
