For orthopaedic programmes that want the full shoulder girdle in context, this life-size model combines the right half of the thoracic cage and arm stump with a detailed, removable shoulder joint for arthroscopic training. It was developed according to chief physician Dr. Wolfgang Birkner.

Lifting the soft skin cover reveals the shoulder joint with its ligaments, capsule and muscles. Trainees can simulate current surgical techniques on the shoulder joint, biceps tendon, joint capsule and rotator cuff, including a supraspinatus with a tear for repair practice. The removable joint also works as a functional model for classroom examination.
