Description
For orthopaedic and sports medicine programmes teaching shoulder arthroscopy, this life-size model lets trainees practise procedures on a joint enclosed in realistic soft tissue, then remove the cover to use it as a functional teaching joint. It was developed according to arthroscopy pioneer Prof. Dr. H.R. Henche.
The shoulder joint, complete with its ligament connections and capsule, is embedded in a soft skin and muscle covering, so trainees work through tissue just as they would in theatre.
Procedures you can simulate
- Shoulder joint arthroscopy
- Work on the biceps tendon
- Joint capsule procedures
- Rotator cuff procedures
With the skin and muscle covering removed, the shoulder becomes a functional joint model for lectures and demonstrations. An optional clamp secures the model to a bench or table for practice.
Spare parts
Front and back skin and muscle envelopes, joint lip (labrum), joint capsule, biceps tendon, scapula, humerus and silicone oil are all available individually, so the model can be kept in service for years. A version supplied in a padded case (CLA 15/1) is available on request.
Choosing between our shoulder models: this model (CLA 15) focuses on the joint itself. The Shoulder Joint Complex (CLA 15/3) adds the right half of the thorax, a ball-joint clamp stand, an arm handle and individual muscles including a supraspinatus with tear.
